Stop Warrantless Mass Surveillance in Colorado!
Throughout Colorado and across the United States, tens of thousands of Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs) are surveilling the public roadways.
These systems don’t just capture license plates, but also a vehicle’s make, model, color and even details like dents, scratches, and bumper stickers. This info is often funneled into centralized, searchable databases that can be accessed and shared (even across state lines) with little oversight.

Yet, without strict guardrails for surveillance technology like ALPRs, that’s increasingly the case.
We are working in collaboration with groups across Colorado to support Senator Judy Amabile’s efforts to pass robust regulations for this powerful surveillance technology.

Regulate License Plate Readers!
It’s time to regulate Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs)! Across Colorado, this largely unregulated mass surveillance technology collects detailed information on individuals and motorists, many of whom have never been suspected of committing a crime.
Sen. Amabile’s bill will create robust statewide regulations for ALPRs and other surveillance technology. For this bill to pass in 2027, it needs your help.

Now’s the time to make your voice heard!
Fill out a letter to Colorado legislators in support of the bill using this form. We will hold these letters and release them to legislators when an appropriate time comes.
